Ceterus Debuts Next-generation Multiservice Cross Connect

The UTX8212 combines market-leading circuit bonding with next generation multiservice cross connect capability, enabling a smooth migration from legacy TDM to new Ethernet, optimized for distributed enterprise and 3G cell tower backhaul.

Ceterus Networks, a provider of flexible transport solutions, today announced the release of its new UTX8212 next generation multiservice cross connect, the latest addition to its Universal Transport System (UTS) product family. The Ceterus UTX8212 next-generation cross connect aggregates all traffic types—including new Ethernet and legacy TDM services—from multiple enterprise locations. Utilizing Ceterus' market-leading, standards-based circuit bonding technology and a powerful 3/1/0 cross-connect, the UTX8212 enables carriers to leverage their existing networks and create flexible ‘virtual pipes' enabling a smooth migration to new packet-based services. The UTX8212 supports critical and rapidly-expanding services such as distributed enterprise connectivity and cell tower backhaul in support of 3G wireless deployments.

Transport for these services is provided using Ceterus' market-leading, standards based circuit bonding technology, which allows exactly the needed bandwidth for
individual applications between sites. By bonding legacy access circuits—NxT1, Nx DS3
and NxOCn—into a single “virtual pipe,” the UTX8212 supports a full range of Ethernet speeds, including enterprise locations requiring services in the sub-10Mbps “sweet spot.”
